From our concept of transformation, this post is about the Essence, the core of the organization, and the basis of its existence.
The Essence, the soul of your organization, answers fundamental questions of WHY, HOW, and WHAT.
It is much more than defining your mission, vision, and values. It goes as deep as identifying the purpose of the organization, the reason why it exists, and the fundamental goal that inspires everyone to get engaged, and to go beyond.
The Essence permits rediscovering the organization through different perspectives and deciding on the desired impact to make.
At Self, we incorporate verbal and visual expression as part of the Essence because this is a key aspect of the identity. Moreover, these tangible aspects of the organization allow people to receive information about the organization and, most importantly, to connect with it through their senses and feelings.
In other words, what we aim for with (re)defining the Essence is to have a clear and inspiring purpose (the why of the organization), mission (the what), vision (the how), and the key pillars for the visual and verbal representation (the branding).
These elements are the ones that allow the organization to visualize where it wants to go, and what road to take. This is by far the most strategic decision/action an organization can take.
Through a collaborative process our role at SELF, a collective of diverse human beings and professionals, is to accompany the organization and the teams to rediscover that inner uniqueness.
Together we’d develop strategic, innovative, and beautiful graphic solutions, aligned with the brand personality, its values, and the responding needs of the stakeholders.
Then, we’d bring to life the brand design, by translating the Essence into a very concrete visual and verbal identity thus playing a very important and inspirational role for the transformational process to start becoming real.
We work directly with organizations that, beyond generating profit, want to create BETTER FUTURES for society, the people, and the planet.
