Accompanying transformation processes is what we do at SELF.
It all starts with the organization's Essence, the trigger of the transformation. Because coherence is the key that links the Essence of the organization with its Being and Doing.
Transformation for us is about a journey. A journey to discover the organization from different perspectives, where the leadership takes courage and makes choices, where they learn to become and act coherently to decisions taken.
This is our concept of transformation. Simple. Straightforward.
The journey mostly has three phases:
- First, (re)define who the organization is, the core of its existence (the Essence) that answers the fundamental questions of WHY, HOW, and WHAT including verbal and visual expression.
- Then the work is to make this core document alive both at individual and organizational levels inside the people working/collaborating and in the organization's policies, rituals, procedures, and actions. We call this step, the Being.
- The third part, which we call the Doing, is to make sure that the products and/or services are also framed within the core of whom the organization defines. Because it is through what the organization does that it becomes clear what it is, and what impact it makes internally and externally.
As we said before, the key concept for this process is coherence between these phases.
Having an external partner for a transformation journey is helpful to stimulate, guide, and elevate the reflections, to keep the attention focused on the process avoiding getting trapped in the day-to-day business thus dedicating time to this vital exercise.
The diversity of thoughts, personalities, and expertise of the external partner is fundamental to injecting a dynamic that fosters change of paradigms and stimulates a healthy introspective reflection that triggers innovation, creativity, and the desire to build a better future.
Our role at SELF, a collective of diverse human beings and professionals, is to accompany the organization and the teams to consciously navigate between these three main elements in the transformation journey aiming to have coherence between them.
